I heard about Esther’s when Sis Andrea Porter-Bent came to do a presentation at my church (Canon Street, Baptist Church). Before starting this programme, I was spiritually dormant, like the film “Awaking”; I was in a good place emotionally; physically I have been unwell as I currently suffer with ongoing back pain. Since the academy, I have woken up and am no longer spiritually dead, I feel that same fire for Christ like it was at my baptism some years ago. The workshop entitled, “In His Presence”, impacted me the most. Marriage as God designed it and sustaining a healthy marriage are important to me as I have been married, divorced, single and am now re-married. I have enjoyed all aspects of the course and already have applied various lessons in my everyday life and have made steps to share it within my local community.
I attended Esther
I heard about Esther’s 5 years ago via a friend. I wanted to apply then but realised the sessions were held on Saturdays and I work Saturdays. Since then, that was my reason and excuse for not applying then finances became an issue. However this year I applied not knowing how things would work out as I still work Saturdays! I just believed all things would work together for good and they did. I was just coming out of a dry season spiritually; physically and mentally I was tired! Thought I enjoyed taking the time out and being with likeminded women, initially I was not sure if Esther was for me. That soon changed and every week I left thanking God for this opportunity. I can’t put my finger on the most empowering session as I left every sessions feeling inspired and excited about my journey in Christ. Every session charged up my inner being, and it either confirmed I was on the track or gave me much food for thought and practical tools for those areas of my life which needed a little attention. I truly thank God for what seemed impossible, God made very possible. This has been a short but great part of my journey. I will leave Esther’s knowing with certainty that I can and will do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I will remain faithful in all things an step into those steps that have been ordered by God just as Esther did. My purpose is in those steps.
